David McLellan
Head Coach & Choreographer
David holds a Diploma in Drama & Dance at the Graduate Academy of South Africa (GASA).
Lectured at Stage Door Academy, in Ballet, whilst specialising in master classes for male dancers.
He also free-lanced as lead dancer, performing at The State Theatre and Internationally, under the auspices of Dance Academy of South Africa (DASA) and Choreographers such as Leàne Coetzee and Sue Kirkland.
David was nominated: best upcoming contemporary dancer for FNB Dance awards, which gave way into the skill of him being a choreographer and artist manager within the Vocal and Dance industry.
Having a growing passion, as life-long learner, he developed a keen interest in education of young upstarts. Yearning to share his expertise and knowledge, he started his journey that led him into musical theatre and school productions (Revues).
His education also includes that of Latin and Ballroom through Fred Astaire, South Africa where he was an instructor for 2 years and now offers social lessons which include sessions to help wedding couples to get up to scratch before that all important day.
Having been travelled abroad, David has established himself once again in the dance industry and has found his roots in the North West (Koster, Rustenburg & further) focussing on education and social elements of rhythm, movement in the beginning to full syllabi in various dance styles.
He endeavours to establish a good relationship with folk within the community, to rekindle the love of the arts and culture platform, not only via individual lessons but group lessons as well.
Being trained by the sorts of Pinto Ferreira, Monique McCord, Launa Haupt, Dianne Finche. Jean van Staden, Sharon Viljoen, Hestie Johnson and more well known Choreophers and Masters. David carries the baton forward to inspire and enliven the spirit of young and old alike to have fun and be knowledgeable of their craft as dancers.
